On the 24 July 1995 Weipa Hardware was formed.

Weipa Retailers was purchased, which consisted of two stores, one located at Evans Landing, concentrating on small mechanical repairs plus hardware, and the other at Nanum, which concentrated on camping and push bikes. Both stores were amalgamated into one, with the Nanum store closing, allowing the Evans Landing store to offer a comprehensive range of hardware, plumbing, timber, gardening supplies, camping supplies, push bikes and bike accessories.

Within a year it was obvious that the existing premises, as it stood, would not hold the stock needed, and building expansions were carried out. The expansions continued on annually thereafter, with land being purchased on either side of the store to add a timber shed and also develop much needed car-parking facilities.
